The LMA CTrach™ is designed to increase intubation success rates in difficult airways.

The LMA Flexible was developed for use in ENT, head and neck and upper torso procedures, where the need to re-position the airway tube may be prevalent. In these cases the LMA Flexible has been shown to protect the trachea and esophagus from blood and secretions from above better than an Endotracheal tube.

The LMA Flexible has a cuff identical to that of the LMA Classic with a longer, wire-reinforced airway tube that allows the tube complete flexibility and resistance to compression. This unique design allows the tube to be moved out of the surgical field without displacement of the cuff or loss of seal. The flexible tube of the airway does not allow much force to be transmitted down the tube which is where insertion with the standard LMA insertion technique may be difficult, especially for new users. The LMA Flexible Introducer was created to help stabilize the flexible airway tube during insertion and is removed once the mask is in place. The LMA Flexible Introducer alleviates the difficulty of insertion without losing any of the key advantages of the LMA Flexible.
