BiteGard™, an oral bite block, is recommended for use with LMA™ airways to prevent potential occlusion of the airway tube. The BiteGard™ is put in place once the LMA™ device has been properly inserted. The BiteGard™ also serves as a stabilizer when the LMA™ is correctly taped to the patient's cheek and chin.
The BiteGard™ should remain in place until the LMA™ device is removed from the patient.
